Former Clydesdale Bank boss hands over the reins
FORMER Clydesdale Bank head of retail services Ian MacDonald has announced his intention to leave National Australia Bank next year.
NAB's group chief information officer (CIO) has decided to retire after a 43-year career with the bank, as restructuring sees his responsibilities distributed among regional CIOs.
Mr MacDonald's time at NAB spanned stints in Australia as executive general manager of financial services and in the UK as head of retail services with Scotland's Clydesdale Bank and chief operating officer for sister bank the Yorkshire.
News of Mr MacDonald's retirement comes three weeks after the bank detailed a comprehensive plan to turn around the flagging business.
