Apple iPhone to join Vodafone network
APPLE's iPhone will be available on Vodafone's network in the new year under a deal announced yesterday.
Vodafone's distribution agreement comes a day after Apple signed a deal with Orange, bringing an end to its exclusive two-year agreement with O2 to sell the iPhone.
While O2 and Orange will go head to head this Christmas with the iPhone, Vodafone customers will have to wait until the new year to get their hands on the 3G and more powerful 3GS handsets.
Neither Orange nor Vodafone have given details of handset costs or tariffs, but commentators hope that competition between operators will pull down prices.
