Amor wins Oslo bidding to track air passengers
QUEUING at one of Europe's busiest airports will be eased considerably thanks to a deal with a Scottish aviation IT firm.
Amor Group has secured a 200,000 contract with Oslo airport for its pioneering software in a deal that it hopes will open doors to other Scandinavian business.
The PAXTrax+ software enables airport bosses to check the queuing times at security and check the flows of passengers as they arrive and depart.
This gives them the information they need to allocate staff accordingly and try to avoid bottlenecks.
Oslo airport handles more than 18 million passengers each year and in 2007 was named Europe's most efficient.
Bjrn Erik Larsen, contract adviser on security at Oslo airport, said: "We are always working to improve the experience for our customers, so this software will help us to make sure we have the right number of staff in our security areas and make the whole process quicker and smoother."
Amor Group's new partnership with Danish Bluetooth company Blip Systems was launched at last month's Passenger Terminal Expo in Brussels.
Amor Group has a global client list including Nats, BAA and BMI.
Established in May last year following a management buyout of Pragma and Real Time from the Sword Group, it has forecast revenues of 32 million.
It has 380 staff across its Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Coventry and Houston offices.
Oslo airport has been named Europe's most punctual airport three times by the AEA (Association of European Airlines).
