Amor wins 5-year contract with Centrica worth £½m
AMOR Group, the Scottish IT services firm, has a won a five-year support contract from Centrica Energy.
The 500,000 deal will see Amor provide round-the clock support and maintenance of a gas control system for Centrica subsidiary Hydrocarbon Resources at a terminal in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.
The company has worked with Hydrocarbon Resources for the past 11 years and Robert McSaveney, Amor Group's technical director, said : "We are delighted that the level of support we have provided to date has led to this new five year contract."
Amor Group, which has 400 staff at offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Coventry and Houston, provides IT and managed services to the energy, transport and public sectors.
The group was established in May 2009 to acquire two businesses from the French-owned Sword Group in a 28m deal. Latest results showed a turnover of 30m, with continued growth forecast for 2010.
Earlier this month the company said it plans to double turnover by the end of 2012 as it targets further overseas business. Clients include BP, ConocoPhillips, Shell, Maersk, Cairn Energy and Talisman Energy.
Centrica operates the offshore Morecambe gas fields as well as the gas processing terminals at Barrow-in-Furness. The fields' combined remaining reserves are among the largest in the UK continental shelf.
