Alan Craig falls to combination

A COMBINATION of tough trading conditions in the red meat sector and the hiring and firing of senior managers appears to have brought about the demise of Alan Craig, pictured, as chief executive of the ANM Group in Inverurie.
ANM – which had a £124 million turnover last year – said Patrick Machray would take over as chief executive officer with immediate effect.
Although the company posted profits of £1.07m last year, most of this came from the livestock auctioneering side of the 7,500 member strong co-operative.
Only two years ago, red meat processing produced a loss of over £1.3m although this was reduced last year.
Craig intimated that he was going to increase volume through the plants but the downside has been the loss of a number of customers for its high-value Scotch Premier brand.
