Aggreko powers up in Uganda

AGGREKO has continued its strong growth in Africa, winning a major Ugandan contract.

The Glasgow-based temporary power supplier said it would provide a further 50 megawatts of temporary power in Uganda, in addition to the 100MW already installed there.

The contract with the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company will run for three years from the second quarter of this year. It is worth about $45 million (22.8m). On Monday, Aggreko confirmed it had won the contract to supply temporary power at the Beijing Olympics.
