A helping hand for new firms
A NEW initiative to make it easier to get a business off the ground has been launched by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.
The business group has produced a custom-built start-up pack in a bid to solve common challenges faced by firms.
The pack includes three years of free business banking from Royal Bank of Scotland, instant tender alerts, telecommunications offers, free software trials, discounts on products, half price chamber membership and free legal advice.
Alasdair Kerr, the chamber's business development director, said: "Encouraging entrepreneurship is high on everyone's agenda but that is not enough – you have to match that with practical support for start-up businesses
"We are matching our long-term influence and contacts with this new product to make a major difference to start-up businesses."
