888.com income rise is right on cue
ONLINE gambling firm 888.com has seen its income rise by 24 per cent to £46 million for the third quarter of this year – up from £37m in 2007.
The company enjoyed an 18 per cent rise in casino betting – from 19.6m to 23m. Trading during the traditionally weaker summer months of July and August was solid, with Total Operating Income in August growing above July's level.
Gigi Levy, chief executive officer, said: "We have delivered another quarter of solid performance which was impacted by the global economic crisis and the extreme volatility in exchange rates."
