20/20's vision earns top nominations
A WEE bit of Hollywood magic has helped Edinburgh-based 20/20 Productions to land four nominations at the Scottish communication "Oscars".
Ewan McGregor, the Scottish actor, appeared in the company's charity film for the Children's Hospice Association Scotland (Chas), which has been short-listed in the "best DVD" category at the Communication in Business Scotland Awards.
The production company has also been nominated for its work on a banking electronic magazine, an internal publication and a conference.
Alastair Scott, managing director of 20/20 Productions, started the company in 1990 with business partner Andy MacKay, from what they described as a "cramped bedroom". The company now has 15 staff in Newington, Edinburgh, and also has a "US presence" in San Francisco.
Scott added: "We are thrilled to be nominated for these awards, which recognise the efforts of the team. It is so easy for agencies in this field to become jaded and formulaic. I am very fortunate in that I still love this industry and get excited about every project."
