£2m boost will help AWS rule the waves
SCOTTISH wave energy firm AWS Ocean Energy has secured a £2 million investment from Scottish Enterprise's Scottish Co-investment Fund and a fund linked to Royal Dutch Shell.
The investment is the first extended to AWS by Scottish Enterprise but it is the second round of funding from Shell Technology Ventures Fund One.
Inverness-based AWS said the investment will allow it to plough ahead with plans to develop and deploy its wave power technology. It would also further its efforts to design associated technologies, such as mooring systems, for wider use in wave and tidal energy sectors.
