WHEN it comes to the seaside, you’d normally think "summer", but now that swimming and sunbathing are only for the truly hardy or truly mad, it’s time for walkers to reclaim the coasts. Some of the best autumn walks are along the cliffs, dunes and beaches of Scotland’s mainland and islands - and with so much coastline for a relatively small country, there’s plenty of choice and plenty of room for us all.

Walking in Scotland

ONE of the greatest joys of autumn walking in Scotland is the resplendent colours of the landscape, and some of my favourite walks are in our magnificent woodlands at this time of year.
