A CITY school pupil has been commended in an art competition run by an animal charity.
Emma Rankin, a student at George Watson's College, depicted factory farming in her entry for the contest run by Animal Aid.
Her artwork compared the life of a pig on a factory farm with that of a pig in an open field.
The picture was shortlisted in the 11-13 age group for its imagination, technique and understanding of the issue.
The charity received more than 1500 entrants.
