Lee Westwood missed the chance to replace Tiger Woods as world No 1 as Germany's Martin Kaymer came through to win the Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews yesterday.

MARTIN Laird stopped paying too much respect to the Old Course yesterday and was rewarded with a five-under-par 67 - seven shots better than his previous best effort on its hallowed fairways.

We had a fantastic time today and we finished 11 under. We started well and just kept on going. I thought we might have a problem on the back nine into the wind but then I eagled the 10th and birdied the 13th and 14th,, with a shot at the 14th, so it was absolute dreamland.
