Polly Gilchrist, 22, post-grad student, Newington: "I'm just here to support the night. I don't really know any of the bands but I'm liking what I hear. If you can't hear anything just make your way down the front, but you can't stop people from talking and enjoying themselves."
Charles Cameron, 26, web designer, Tollcross: "These kind of things are great for the music scene. Edinburgh is finally competing with Glasgow and you can see from those who were playing that there's a lot of variety and styles, as well. The Gillyflowers could really make it big, they seem totally comfortable with what they do, and they look like they're having a great time. They're all utterly gorgeous as well."

Meredith Robertson, 24, wedding planner, Cramond: "I'm having a great time, it's a cool place to hang out and it's nice to see different styles of bands playing here as it's normally always jazz you get. That's not really my thing, but everyone has been pretty good as far as I can tell. I just wish the drinks were a bit more affordable."
