THE Conservative front-bench MP whose office was raided by police accused the government yesterday of "continuing to dither" over an inquiry into his arrest. Damian Green said the delay in setting up an investigation into the police search of his parliamentary office without a warrant was "disgraceful".
Mr Green was cleared three months ago following his controversial arrest over a series of leaks from the Home Office.

In his farewell speech to the Commons on 17 June, former Speaker Michael Martin promised MPs that an "all-party inquiry of eight senior members" would examine the treatment of Mr Green, the shadow immigration minister.

In the scandal over Westminster Parliamentary expenses, it was found that Damien Green, was 171st out of 646 Members of Parliament.

This MP lives in Ashford in the Home Counties, which has good high speed rail and road links into the centre of London, yet he claims for a "second home".

He was found to be one of the highest claiming Tories
making maximum use of every allowance available to MPs. (Source: Daily Telegraph)

The Green affair was grounds alone for getting rid of what may have been the worst Speaker ever. Clueless about anything that matters, but savvy about playing the Labour Party system for his own ends
