WE ARE now two months into the IFA of the Year Competition (2008) and the economic situation has not got any easier for our ten IFAs and their client, Angus MacDonald.
Volatility has continued in world stock markets with the FTSE 100 continuing to see-saw on a daily basis. Such uncertainty makes it difficult for our IFAs to know what investment choices are best for MacDonald.

It also emphasises how crucial expert advice is in troubled times.

In this monthly review, we focus on the five IFAs in the second half of the table of ten competitors.

Well done the IFA's, you've managed to lose your client a tidy sum in a short space of time.

On the day you picked your funds, I 'randomly' picked 10 shares and allocated £30k to each of them. My portfolio is now worth 296k - a fall of 1.11% - something you can only look on with envy...When the stock market rebouns, my shares will grow quicker than your costly funds. Har har...

For a small fee I'll let you know the 10 companies - you could do with a break.
