Joyce has been chief theatre critic of The Scotsman since 1998, and also writes a weekly commentary column for the newspaper. She broadcasts regularly, mainly on BBC Radio Scotland and Radio 4.

POP CRITIC
Fiona has been The Scotsman's chief pop critic since 1999. Despite prolonged exposure to the music of Motorhead, her ears are holding up quite well.

FILM CRITIC
Alistair got his "big break" doing the red-carpet beat for Empire Online. Now based in Glasgow, he has been covering film for The Scotsman since 2002.

ART CRITIC
Duncan has been a Scotsman critic for many years. Formerly curator of the Talbot Rice Gallery and a professor at Edinburgh University, he has also made regular appearances on TV and radio.
Kenneth WaltonKENNETH WALTON
CLASSICAL MUSIC CRITIC
Kenneth worked as a classical music critic for various publications before moving to The Scotsman in 1999. He also works in music education and is a regular pundit for BBC radio and TV.
Kelly ApterKELLY APTER
DANCE CRITIC
Kelly Apter writes about dance and children's theatre for a range of publications, and has been The Scotsman's chief dance critic since 2000.
Andrew EatonANDREW EATON
ARTS EDITOR
Andrew joined The Scotsman in 2000, and was previously arts editor of the Big Issue in Scotland. He has a particular interest in experimental theatre and obscure bands, but will try anything once.
Roger CoxROGER COX
DEPUTY ARTS EDITOR
Roger joined the Scotsman as an arts desk intern during the 2000 Edinburgh Festival. The coffee in the canteen was so good that he decided to stick around. He has been The Scotsman's deputy arts editor since 2003.
David RobinsonDAVID ROBINSON
BOOKS EDITOR
David has been books editor of The Scotsman since 2000 and published his first book of essays and interviews last year. Although he's got no interest in writing fiction, he is fascinated by people who do.

Tim Cornwell has been arts correspondent of The Scotsman since 2003, writing news and feature stories on the festivals, theatre, classical music and opera, film, literature and visual art, as well as a weekly arts diary.

Susan Mansfield has been an arts writer for The Scotsman since 2001, and also writes a weekly column on contemporary art. She has been writing across the Arts in Scotland since 1991.

Jim Gilchrist is a long-serving journalist with The Scotsman. While his own listening tastes are broad, for the paper he has written largely on folk and traditional music for many years, and more recently on jazz.

Paul Whitelaw has been a television critic for The Scotsman since 2006. He has written about TV, music, books and comedy for 10 years, and is also the author of Belle and Sebastian: Just a Modern Rock Story. Will dance for pennies.
Andrea MullaneyANDREA MULLANEY
TV CRITIC
Andrea Mullaney has been writing about television, books, films, music and theatre for 19 years and is yet to run out of opinions. Even though she reviews TV programmes for a living, she does occasionally leave the house.
