The 28-year-old from Bathgate, West Lothian, proposed to Laura, 26, at Christmas after dating for several years.
He drove for F1 team Force India for three seasons but did not gain a driver’s seat for this year.
Following the nuptials, Indycar legend Dario tweeted: “Fantastic to be in Florence with family and friends to celebrate with @pauldirestaf1 and @missljo . Had an amazing time! #Mr&MrsPDR.”
Paul later tweeted: “Mrs and Mrs D.#Love.”
The couple held their reception at the plush Continentale Hotel in the city and left a note there thanking locals and staff for their hospitality.
It read: “The most amazing week and best day ever. Thank you Florence. Love always, Mr and Mrs Di Resta.”
Paul’s F1 career hit the skids after Force India bosses were unimpressed by his results at the wheel.
