'Not seeing improvement under Townsend', 'Tired of being valiant losers': Scotland fans react to Six Nations rugby defeat to Ireland
The line-out stats did not make for good reading…
Stuart Jeffery: “You can’t expect to win if you lose that many line-outs on your own throw. Couldn’t exert pressure from the set piece in good field position. Frustrating!”
@Obar_Dheathain: “Exactly the same as last year against them. Comedic indiscipline, poor lineouts and dreadful decision making at times. The scoreline flattered us.”

The result puts Ireland second – but Scotland were close to salvaging a draw.
@rugbypct: “One win and two defeats when we should have three wins. We'll end up with two wins and three defeats and second bottom of the table. Not great.”
@dougl84: “Another infuriating Scotland six nations where we play one good game congratulate ourselves and then revert norm, ill disciplined and underwhelming.”
Martin Nicoll: “I'm not seeing the improvement under Townsend. We have one really good performance and we get excited, the reality is we are a poor disciplined team that cannot do the easy things properly.
@ChainlinkCouri1: “It would have been a harder fight for Ireland if we learned from our errors but we never do and are just not progressing under Gregor. Time for a change maybe?!
@Norman_LJR: “I miss Laidlaw. Also might be time to give Skinner and Bayliss a start for once.”
Others were a little more optimistic after an engrossing match.

@Nobody_Died: “A great game to watch today with two fully committed squads . Thanks for the spectacle.”
@Jonny_Arborist: “Hamish Watson MOM for me. Absolutely superb all game.”
But Stuart Booth added : “This is the best Scottish team in the Pro era, and yet the results are always the same. I’d rather this team got rolled over rather than these agonising last minute defeats that we’ve had against the Welsh and now the Irish.”
