'I'm thinking Banks': Rangers goalkeeper's save compared to world's best against Pele by excited Ibrox icon
The one-handed stop to deny a header from Lukas Masopust was replayed multiple times from several angles in the post-match analysis and former Ibrox manager McCoist raved “it gets better each time I see it”.
The stop kept Rangers well in the tie with the return leg to decide who progresses to the quarter finals of the Europa League coming next Thursday evening – and even prompted a comparison with England World Cup winning legend Gordon Banks.

Watching the replays the Rangers record goalscorer raved: “It’s a brilliant delivery. The ball in is superb, the header is out of this world but, that save, is as good a save as I’ve seen in years.
“Getting to it is one thing but stopping it and retrieving it is remarkable. It looks behind him a little bit.”
As more angles followed McCoist added: “I’m allowed to get carried away, it’s gone from one of the best saves this season to one of the best ever.
“It’s behind him. What a save... I’m thinking Banks!”
McGregor played down the save when giving his post-match thoughts, but Hutton said: “It’s definitely up there. He’s got a catalogue of saves that quality but to get a hand on it – and not just that – he grabs it out. It’s unbelievable.”
