Hide AdThat opened the floodgates as the home team were pummelled from all angles with Weatherson, Reid and O’Brien all going close before Hardie powered home a header just after the quarter hour mark. It culminated in Weatherson adding a third before the break courtesy of a free header from six yards out.
There was to be no let-up after the interval with Morton pulling out all the stops to score direct from a corner through David Graham, before Weatherson slotted home his second.
The Sons did salvage scant consolation late-on, Brian Prunty angling home a smart finish to round off the scoring.
