Ryanair passes on eco-tax to public
BUDGET airline Ryanair is set to slap 25p on all bookings from next week to cover the cost of the European Emissions Trading System, a green tax scheme.
The levy will come into force on Tuesday. But Ryanair, led by chief executive Michael O’Leary, said the tax would cost its passengers €15-€20 million (up to £17 million) a year and branded it an “eco-looney’ tax.
