MSP raises fears over benefit cuts
Speaking in the Scottish Parliament, he quoted evidence from campaign group Inclusion Scotland that the benefit cuts could lead to destitution and homelessness.
The group has argued the proposed changes may simplify the benefit system, but they would leave many people without adequate funding.

Hide AdMr MacDonald said disabled people in Scotland stood to lose more than £500 million a year in benefits.
He said: “Scotland will be disproportionately affected because we have a higher rate of people with impairments than other areas of the UK.
“These changes would lead to a loss of disabled people’s ability to live independently and participate in community life.”
