Antiques and decorative fair: Save the date for this three day event in Berwick-upon-Tweed this June

This three-day antiques and decorative fair in an historic setting is one not to be missed

Up to 70 dealers and collectors will come together in the grounds of stunning Grade I Listed Paxton House, in the borders.

The neo-Palladian building is home to a nationally-recognised collection of Chippendale and Trotter furniture.

Sitting on the banks of the Tweed, Paxton House lies just three miles west of the A1, near the walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed – all within easy reach of Edinburgh.

Save the date

The fair takes place in June on the weekend of Friday 14 to Sunday 16 and is presented by Glam Racket Events Ltd, in partnership with Paxton House.

This is the inaugural Paxton House Antiques Fair, and it brings together quality dealers selling a wide range of antique and vintage items. From decorative pieces to give a distinct look to your home inside or out, to salvage items, curiosities and collectables there will be items large and small.

These items, as well as jewellery, cameras, ceramics and more will all be on display for sale in an impressive set-up of arcade-style marquees in the grounds of the house. There will also be a large marquee for other small items including books, bronze figures, paintings, postcards and a host of curiosities to capture the imagination and delight the eye.

Meet the organisers

Glam Racket came about through a group of four dealers friends, and was set up in honour of a mutual friend last year.  They wanted to promote and encourage fairs in and around the borders, which would have a wonderful, enjoyable atmosphere.

The organisers say: “The Glamracket name comes from a dear friend of ours, Davey Wright, who died much too young, it was his business name, now we honour him by carrying the name on.”

Visit, eat, drink and stay

Admission to the fair is just £5 and there will be a variety of facilities on site which include food and drink, including the Paxton Stable Café, a daytime bar and toilets. With ample parking it’s easy to drive there, or you can take the bus from Berwick to Paxton.

Visitors can even stay on site as there is a walled caravan site – although you will need to book ahead.
