Former Balfour boss joins Cairn Energy board
The Edinburgh-based firm said Tyler, who ran the construction and infrastructure business for eight years before stepping down in March, which also sit on its audit and remuneration committees.
Cairn chairman Sir Bill Gammell said: “Ian’s extensive business experience and independent perspective from outside the oil and gas industry will be of immense value to Cairn.”

Hide AdTyler’s other roles include non-executive directorships at defence contractor BAE Systems and telecoms group Cable & Wireless Communications.
He is also the chairman of Al Noor Hospitals, the largest private healthcare provider in Abu Dhabi, which raised £97 million this week when it floated on the London Stock Exchange.
