The most active runners in Scotland are found in Edinburgh according to running app Strava with 145,110 people uploading their workouts to the app in 2015.
Following quite some distance behind was Glasgow, with only 87,694 runs.

On average runners in Glasgow were doing 11.34 Km/H - just slightly faster than those in Aberdeen who reached an average speed of 11.28 Km/H.
In fact, Glaswegians ran the fastest in the whole country, coming in at one second faster than Londeners.
Those in the Highlands not only run the farthest, but also have the most hills to contend with. Having an average climb of 126.6m during their runs,
Highlanders cross an average distance of 9.39km during their hour long run.
They run an average of 15 minutes longer than the next closest region, Edinburgh, who only run for an average of 45 mins per run.
