The Balerno teenager is favourite to retain the 200 metre backstroke but also wants to win the 100m event. "Getting to the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in October was a shock, but a great experience," he said.
"I made the top 12 in both the 100m and 200m and swam personal best times, so it couldn't have gone much better. I'm now ranked seventh in GB and want to make it into the top three by the time of the Olympic trials next year. Then I will have a chance of making the London 2012 team. I'm an outsider, but I'm taking a year out and will be going all out for it." Scotland's Commonwealth Games Champions - Inverurie's Hannah Miley and City of Glasgow's Robbie Renwick - also want to start 2011 in style.
