Scots handed tough draw for home sevens
Ahead of their home tournament, Scotland won the inaugural Tokyo Sevens Shield at the weekend.
The Scots were unable to pursue the higher-ranked Bowl trophy after losing out to France, in their opening game of day two, 22-19, despite Sean Kennedy showing his ever-increasing threat with two tries against their European counterparts. Mark Robertson also touched down in the match.

Against Russia – who the Scots will face again in Glasgow during the opening pool games – James Fleming added two tries to his tally, which now sits at 37 in this season alone. He also scored one in the final. Michael Fedo scored as well against Russia and Colin Gregor added all three conversions.
Finally, against Kenya it was a forwards affair with Mark Cairns, Ross Miller and Michael Fedo all joining Fleming on the score sheet. Gregor added the extras three out of four times.
