Jordan Spieth will be scarred by failure says Faldo
Only time will tell, though, what damage was incurred mentally by the American as he unexpectedly imploded on Sunday when he had one arm in a second Green Jacket. According to someone who has three of those in his wardrobe, Spieth will be affected as he attempts to pick up the pieces before his next major title defence, the US Open at Oakmont in June.
“This will scar him. This will damage him for a while,” said Nick Faldo, who recorded the last of his three victories here in similar fashion after Greg Norman capitulated in the last round, carding a 78 as Faldo won with a 67. “We’re all in shock with what happened to Jordan,” added the Englishman. “In ’96 you got the sense that Greg was struggling, but it was bit by bit. What happened to Jordan, it was so sudden, just bam. It was ten minutes of golf. That’s the harshness of it.”

It was evidence that golf is in a really good place right now. “It is tough, really tough,” he admitted. “What happened was down to a lack of discipline, but I don’t have any doubt about my ability to close out events.”
