Kemar Roofe saw red for a horror challenge on goalkeeper Ondreij Kolar that saw the Slavia Prague goalkeeper stretchered off the park at Ibrox.

The striker was stretching for a long ball when he clashed with the goalkeeper in mid-air but the Rangers player’s foot was high off the ground and caught the Czech stopper in the face.

Charlie Adam on BBC Scotland said the challenge was “indefensible” adding: “If Roofe goes with his head, he’s got more chance of the goalkeeper taking him out and winning a penalty.”

Fellow BBC pundit Michael Stewart added: “It's a horrible situation where something happens in a split second. You cannot defend it, it's a definite red card, but I don't think it's malicious.”
