Form
Aberdeen: DWDWWDLD (3rd)
Rangers: WWWWWLWW (1st)
Aberdeen have been up and down in form recently, though only lost twice in the last ten matches – and one of those defeats came at Ibrox against Rangers.
The Dons have only managed to string two separate runs of back-to-back wins together since a bright beginning to their season saw their opening day defeat to the Gers folloed by six straight wins.
However, they’re still at the top end of the table and a win would put them on the coat-tails of Celtic, one point off second place.
Rangers meanwhile have continued their relentless winning run in the league, with only a defeat to St Mirren in the Betfred Cup blemishing their recent form.
Team news
Rangers are waiting to learn for the extent of injuries to Scott Arfield and Kemar Roofe, while ex-Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Jack’s rehabilitation from a knee problem is continuing gradually.
Scott Wright is back for the home side, and Derek McInnes is enthused by the winger’s availability. He’s also seeking a ‘game-changer’ in the transfer window but he may need to move quickly to bring in a new face ahead of Sunday’s match.
Previous Meetings
Rangers won the previous two meetings this season 1-0 at Pittodrie and 4-0 at Ibrox. Last season Derek McInnes’ team held the Glasgow side to two draws, but were also beaten 5-0 at Ibrox.
