Hide AdRangers are disputing the claim, saying that the IT firm broke the contract by installing a system that wouldn’t meet the needs of an average Ibrox crowd.
The club regularly get crowds around 45,000, but the Wi-Fi would only function properly for fewer than 10,000 users.
802 Works insist the club were aware of the limitations before it was installed and have also claimed the Wi-Fi was only stopped when Virgin Media pulled out because of non-payment of bills.
A hearing was held on Tuesday to argue if the £300,000 should remain ring-fenced for the duration of the case, which is expected to run into next season.
802 Works want the money held aside as insurance in case Rangers as a company becomes invsolvent prior to the completion of the legal dispute.
Simon Catto, representing 802 Works at Glasgow Sheriff Court, said: “The company [Rangers] cannot pay this of its own accord as it is operating at a loss. It has to come from somewhere else.”
