The game is live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football channels (401 & 403) and the programme begins at 7pm. Highlights will be available at 11.15pm on BBC Scotland channel and on BBC iPlayer.
Team news
St Mirren will be without Kristian Dennis after the striker was sent to see a specialist for an Achilles injury sustained at the weekend win over Kilmarnock.
Celtic welcomed back winger James Forrest to training this week but the game in Paisley is too soon for him. Ismaila Soro should be fine to play despite missing training yesterday following a car crash in the snow yesterday
Shane Duffy has recovered from illness and Ryan Christie is fit and back in the squad. Christopher Jullien remains a long-term absentee.
Previous meetings
Just a week and a half ago St Mirren romped to an historic 2-1 win at Parkhead – the first time they have avoided defeat against the Scottish champions since a 0-0 draw in September 2018 and first win since the League Cup semi-final of 2013.
In every season where the sides have met on league business since 2000/01 Celtic have beaten the Paisley side by four or more goals at least once – but in this season’s meetings so far there has been a 2-1 away win each. The exception to the rule is season 2008/09 where the Saints turned the tables and won 4-0 to spell the end for Tony Mowbray’s reign, a defeat which began the managerial career of Neil Lennon.
