Cycling: Stricken Skinner targets next year after successful op
The 20-year-old British sprint champion is currently on the mend after a successful operation in Manchester to fix the fracture he sustained in a spectacular crash during the Thunderdrome exhibition event at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome two weeks ago.
Skinner had hoped to make the World Cup finale and while the injury means he will miss out on that trip, he is desperate to get back into training and start preparing for his main targets of 2013, although he insists he will only do so once he has recovered fully.

Hide AdHe is eyeing a December return and is focused on a solid block of hard work, saying, “I’d rather have a good winter and be ready for the bigger events in spring and summer.
“There’s never a good time to have an accident like this, but the timing could have been worse.”
