Top of the pups as Doberman has record litter
Dog lover Zara Hayes raised £450 to buy two-year-old Keela after seeing an advert on a sales website saying she was “possibly pregnant”. The 42-year-old, who owns dog rescue company Yappy Ever After, was worried the expectant mother would be exploited because Doberman puppies are often sold for more than £1,000.
She then rehomed Keela with foster parent Cat Davis, 33, in Cardiff at the end of October last year. Vets told them Keela was expecting just five or six babies, so they were stunned when she gave birth to a gigantic litter of 14 puppies on 14 December.

Ms Davis said: “They all have their own personalities and they are bundles of energy.
“The pups are so close they all sleep together in a big puppy heap.
“They are adorable, I am glad we have found loving homes for them all but I will definitely miss them when they leave next month.”
