Sobriety tags may catch on
SCOTLAND Yard is considering introducing US-style “sobriety bracelets”, which are at present being piloted in Strathclyde.
Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe believes the alcohol detection technology could be a key tool in a crackdown on alcohol-related crime.

Hide AdMr Hogan-Howe said he was monitoring the trial in Strathclyde, which is believed to be the first area outside the United States to use the bracelets.
The electronic tags can detect whether offenders have broken a ban on drinking while serving a community sentence.
