Man guilty of trying to have sex with postbox
Paul Bennett, 45, from Lancashire, admitted to “making sexual advances” towards the red pillar box in the Scholes Precinct of Greater Manchester area on September 9 last year.
A female witness described seeing Bennett arguing with a woman before lying on a bench and shouting. He then stood up and exposed himself by pulling his trousers down.

Hide AdAfterwards, he walked towards the postbox and started rubbing himself against it. He was heard to say “wow” while doing so.
He then swung on a lamppost before police officers found him exposing himself at the front of a nearby shop.
Bennett was given a 12-month community order, which requires alcohol treatment and supervision requirement.
The victim was also awarded £50 compensation, with £150 set aside for court costs and a further £60 to be paid for a victim surcharge.
Bennett was also instructed to sign the Sex Offenders Register.
