“Snow will settle to fairly low levels away from coastal districts in north-west Scotland, but will be confined to high ground further south, with 3-6cm.”
There will also be icy patches on roads and pavements.
The Met Office said winds of more than 50mph on coasts and hills would cause blizzards on high-level roads.
It said: “Rain, sleet and snow spreading east on Sunday will tend to turn back to rain, but remain as snow on high ground where accumulations of more than 5cm are expected in places.
“Winds will gust to over 50mph on coasts and hills, leading to blizzard conditions on high-level routes.
“The public should be aware of difficult driving conditions and the risk of disruption to transport.”
All of Scotland will be covered by a further weather warning for the whole of Monday.
