Sir Ranulph Fiennes is honoured as a Doctor of Science by Robert Gordon University
The adventurer, who conquered Everest and crossed both polar icecaps on foot, was given the honorary degree of Doctor of Science by Robert Gordon University.
The 66-year-old lecturer, author and journalist, who served in the SAS, was given the title for his contributions to science.

Hide AdYesterday, Sir Ranulph, OBE, modestly accepted the award at a graduation ceremony at His Majesty's Theatre, Aberdeen. He admitted: "I feel slightly hypocritical because I only got four O-Levels.
"I tried to get more, but only managed four. So a Doctor of Science sounds like I've got brains."
