Rail debate just MP's ticket
A CITY MP is to lead a debate at Westminster on the future of high-speed rail.
Mark Lazarowicz, Labour MP for Edinburgh North & Leith, is a keen supporter of plans for a high-speed line between London and Scotland. He wants to ensure plans by the previous Labour government are not ditched by the new Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday's debate, he said: "The plans announced in March were great news for business and tourist passengers alike.
"It's also vital to encourage people to use rail rather than taking domestic flights."
