Pet lovers' bonus for vet school
Labrador Jet was two when he was diagnosed with a rare form of arthritis in his front legs. In a last-ditch bid to help their pet, Michael and Sue Dennis got in touch with the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh.
The retired couple, who are in their 60s and from North Yorkshire, believe it was the advice they were given by experts at the school which meant Jet lived to the age of ten.
Mr Dennis said: "Although there was no medication prescribed, they did advise us on how to manage his lifestyle, with shorter walks, regular exercise and plenty of fun and attention."
