Time and space
I recently watched on TV the Liberal Democrat immigration spokesman state that if elected they "would introduce a system to ensure that immigration is targeted on areas that are under-populated and want more immigration, like Scotland".
This policy is also confirmed on the party's website.
Does this mean an increase in population for the Borders, I wonder? Given our cities are bursting at the seams, I can't think what else it means.
This worries me. There are not enough houses for local people, never mind for people from overseas. Many thousands are waiting for a local NHS dentist, so how will they cope with many more people moving to the area? Are local GPs ready for the influx of population?
