An exhaustive study has found what the Committee on Medical Aspects of Radiation in the Environment had already found, that the chance of contracting cancer is no higher near such a plant than anywhere else.
Those familiar with nuclear power already knew the amount of radiation emitted by such power stations is so minimal it could not possibly have any deleterious effects, not even on those who work in the plants.

Hide AdBut reassurance will never convince some opponents of advanced technology. Much time and money was spent attempting to prove danger when there never was any. Scaremongers (I wonder if this includes the SNP) have attempted to prevent the construction of nuclear plants when they are almost the only way to generate reliable bulk electricity without damaging the climate, or the land/seascape.
