Letter: Snare trap
Snares are primitive, outdated forms of predator control which are so basic in their design that the chances of animals not suffering horrific injuries are remote.
We should be using the opportunities within the Wildlife and Natural Environment Bill to legislate against these traps rather than wasting time trying to convince the public that new guidelines on their use will make the slightest difference to animal welfare.
