New facility mapped out
THE National Library of Scotland is to carry out a £10,000 upgrade of its maps reading room this weekend.
The modernisation will include moving the reading room from its current first-floor home in Edinburgh's Salisbury Place to new street-level quarters at 159 Causewayside.
The maps reading room will be closed on Saturday and will reopen on Tuesday.
CEO of the National Library of Scotland, Martyn Wade, said: "The new reading room will be a fantastic facility."
