MSP says disused school is ideal site for more affordable homes
Locals have branded the former Curriehill Primary, which closed in 2007, an “eyesore” since it was boarded up in a bid to keep vandals out.
Several attempts have been made to develop the Lanark Road West site but all have fallen through.

Mr Macdonald said: “A sizeable proportion of my workload relates to the lack of affordable homes in areas like Currie. Some are, for instance, retired people who are living in family homes who would like to downsize but want to continue to live in the village where they have raised their families and where friends live.
“This site is ideally situated for housing aimed at the older members of our community, as it is located next to amenities such as the post office and the medical centre.”
