After gentle pushing and ushering from locals and a volunteer from British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR), footage shows the group of mammals finally swimming freely out to sea.
The dramatic video was shot by Noel Hawkins, a marine medic at BDMLR, who had a GoPro on him at the time he was helping herd the distressed pilot wales to safety.
He drove 175 miles with rescue equipment from Ullapool, Scottish Highlands to Lochboisdale, via the Isle of Skye.
