Emergency team logs on to help pupils
Pc Kevin Murphy visited Lasswade High School in Penicuik yesterday along with representatives from the Scottish Ambulance Service and Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue.
The speakers discussed a number of topics, including what their day-to-day duties include and what attracted them to their chosen career.

Hide AdThe participants spoke about the importance of skills learned in the classroom and how these can transfer to a range of jobs.
Pc Murphy said: "Fundamental skills such as good communication and the ability to work with numbers may not always seem like a lot of fun to learn when you're young, but from personal experience they have benefited me greatly as I continue to develop in my career."
Anne Jardine, director of learning and community at Learning and Teaching Scotland, said: "This programme is part of our work to raise awareness of the skills our next generation require to be successful in the workplace."
