Ecstasy warning after man, 24, dies taking drugs
The man, named as amateur boxer Richie Carrigan, passed away after falling ill from taking the drug. Two other men, aged 16 and 23, also fell ill at an address in Kirkintilloch on Saturday and are currently in hospital. Both are described as being in a serious condition at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
The trio are believed to have taken ecstasy tablets without markings on them. Police say the drugs in question come in the form of clear capsuled filled with white powder or a pink tablet.

Hide AdDetective Inspector Greig Wilkie said: “A post mortem will take place regarding the death of the 24-year-old man. One line of inquiry being pursued by officers is that a type of ecstasy may have been involved. However, this has still to be confirmed.
“We all know that illicit drugs are extremely dangerous, usually contain dangerous chemicals which can have an adverse effect on your health.”
Dr Emilia Crichton also warned the public against taking drugs, urging those who had taken illegal substances and felt unwell to seek medical treatment.
“No-one knows exactly what these drugs contain or how strong they are,” she said.
