Death driver 'may not know they hit officer'
Neil Smith, 32, was killed on the eastbound carriageway of the A90 between Perth and Dundee near the Kinfauns flyover at about 4:30am on Saturday.
Mr Smith, a scenes of crime officer with the Scottish Police Services Authority in Dundee, is believed to have been heading to a friend's house in the area after a night out in Perth when he was struck by a passing vehicle. His body was found on the carriageway by a lorry driver.

Hide AdChief Inspector Sandy Bowman, the officer in charge of the inquiry into Mr Smith's death, said: "It's possible that the driver of the vehicle responsible is completely unaware that they have hit someone."
